The Stemedu HC-SR501 PIR Sensor Infrared IR Body Motion Module for Arduino Raspberry Pi is a pack of five motion sensors that operate within a DC 4.5-20V voltage range. It has a photo resistor and configuration which prevents it from triggering during daylight, but this can be jumped out of the circuit. It can detect hot things moving but this can trigger false positives such as when HVAC systems turn on. It comes with instruction specifications on how to use it. Some customers have had issues with the product such as it not working out of the box and it turning on when nobody is in the room. Also, some customers had difficulty adjusting the time interval on the potentiometer and found the product to be unreliable and completely unresponsive after a few minutes. However, other customers have successfully used these sensors for their Halloween project and found them to be lots of fun.
