Answer: I think it would be difficult for a 5 year old and possibly even for a second grader. However, it is a great game. You could adapt it a little and allow 3 letter words or buy the smaller version. -

Quality of print on the cubes seems to be a frequent complaint. Can anyone tell me more about that?
Answer: I purchased this as a gift for a friend, but form what I saw of it, there is no problem. I have the travel version which the cubes sometimes get stuck while shaking it. I had to disassemble it once. This is a fabulous, fun game! I don't know what the complaints regarding the letters on the cube are about. -

Does the cube with a square on it act as a wild card or act as if there were nothing there?

Answer: I don’t know about earlier complaints or if a change in the product was made... we play this often and have no problems with any of it. It is a fun, challenging addition having more cubes/letters to use!
