In addition to being magnetic, it folds like a pocket knife and is easy to clean. One plus point that customers seem to favour is affordability. However, the battery apparently wears out quickly and changing it even more so difficult, and some have had issues with readings malfunctioning after replacement. The thermometer is not backlit, so it might not be useful in low light. Finally, splashing water may not harm it, but putting it in the dishwasher has not been successful every time. It is originally assembled in China, although the company is based in California.
