Answer: I would say about 12 inches but I am at work. But I actually happened to see it in a friend's home and ordered because it was so chunky and substantial. No chance of this toppling over--I love it because of the size of it. -

It says turns on with a floor switch...which I don't want so if its behind a sectional I can turn it on under the shade correct?
Answer: There is a switch to turn on / off at the base if the bulb. -
Question:
Would it be okay to put a 14 inch lamp shade on this lamp?
Answer: This is a beautiful lamp that was larger and more solid than I expected. I LOVE it. The lamp already comes with a shade, so you do not need to purchase something separate. Not sure what size would work best. I’m beyond happy with this purchase. -

Is the lamp shade white or beige?
Answer: It is more beige than white. It looks like a natural linen color and texture.
