The Blumat Bottle Adapters are a useful product for plant owners who worry about their plants getting watered in their absence. While they don't necessarily "water only when needed," as advertised, they do provide continuous, slow drip irrigation. The product is easy to use and doesn't leak. However, the flow of water is difficult to control and can sometimes be too fast, causing plants to drown. The product works well for houseplants and outdoor potted plants and can be used with any 1 or 2-liter plastic bottle, but not with glass wine bottles or smaller plastic bottles. The ceramic bottom piece and the green plastic attachment both accept plastic bottles. The water bottle lasts for varying amounts of time depending on plant needs. While some plants take a week to empty the bottle, others empty it in a couple of days. The Blumat Bottle Adapters are a bit pricey, but a worthwhile investment for plant enthusiasts who are frequently away.
