The Aprilaire 1410 Whole House Air Purifier is a compact air cleaner with a MERV 11 filter. It attaches to the duct work on the furnace and can be installed either at the bottom of the furnace or in line on the return duct work between furnace and return grille. The unpainted cabinet of the unit will not rust when close to a humidifier, and it does not emit ozone. It works by cleaning and filtering the air for the house, removing particulates like dirt, dust, and hair that can pile up in the evaporator coil, and ultimately cause poor humidity control, freezing of the evap coil, and compressor failure. The unit uses proprietary Aprilaire filters with a track built into it that locks into place so air has to pass through the filter media and can’t make its way around other brands box filter, ensuring efficient filtration.
