The High Voltage DC-DC Boost Converter is an adjustable step-up power supply designed for tube preamps and Nixie Tubes. While the low voltage portion of the converter works well and is able to deliver 6.3V, the high voltage side is not functional for most customers. Many customers have reported issues with the high voltage output not meeting the advertised range of 150V-420V and sagging under load. Additionally, some customers have reported that the power MOSFET died within a few minutes of use or the unit was assembled with a complete lack of quality control, resulting in wrongly placed and mismatched capacitors. Issues with the high voltage side can be difficult to diagnose and some customers have resorted to using two separate DC-DC converters for both the low voltage and high voltage portions.
