Majic Paints Fast Dry Self Etching Primer is an excellent product designed primarily as a metal primer. It is specially formulated to provide superior adhesion and corrosion resistance on hard-to-stick non-ferrous metal surfaces, including galvanized steel, chrome, and aluminum. The primer dries quickly and has good adhesion. Customers may reduce it with Majic Reducer, Acetone, or Lacquer Thinner, But It should be noted that reduction is usually not necessary. Although the primer may be used as a topcoat with oil-based or acrylic paints, it is advisable to apply a test patch of the product over primer and then test for adhesion and compatibility. However, it should not be used to prime masonry, stucco, or other cementitious surfaces. Customers should note that this self-etching primer requires a second coat of primer before it can be painted. The company's tech support is very helpful, answering all the questions and addressing concerns. It is a solvent borne coating, and equipment and spills can be cleaned up with Xylene. The product comes ready-to-spray, so it is easy to use straight out of the can.
