What types of baking products can I use this gel with?
Answer: You can use this gel with sugarpaste, royal icing, buttercream, marzipan, cake mix, and fudge. -

Answer: Simply add a small drop at a time and mix until you achieve your desired shade. -

Answer: While it's safe to use, some colors may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children, so please use with caution. -

Answer: All I know is no animals were harmed in the making of this product, although I can't say the same about testing. -

How long do these last for once opened?
Answer: The shelf life of food coloring is almost indefinite. Food coloring does not have raw ingredients in them that can go bad. The only reason that they have expiration dates on them is because the manufacturer is required to do so by law, so you can use it long after it’s due/use by date & if stored properly can be used long after even a couple of years after the date indicated, just always make sure after use that the nozzle is wiped & that the lid/cap is always screwed on properly & gel tubes stored away in a dark area away from direct sunlight. I store mine in a clip lock Tupperware tub then in my food cupboard, these colour splash gels are honestly the best I’ve had experience of using - you should also try if interested, the colour splash powder/lustre dusts -

Can these be used to colour ice cream?
Answer: I would say yes but I haven't tried it. It does mix well with most items as it is gel. -

Do these spoil the flavour of cakes? Shall I purchase vanilla extract as well?
Answer: I don’t think it spoiled the flavour but my cake mix (kerrycooks.com) did have vanilla extract in it as well. Also had a lot of cream cheese frosting! -

Help, how do you open them?! The containers are sealed - what did you use to make holes in them? Is there a second lid inside I have missed?
Answer: I cut the tip off using scissors. -

Are these stronger food colours likely to leave children mouths and lips dyed when used in frosting? Has anyone experienced this?
Answer: No color transfer to my grandchildren that I’ve ever seen. These colors just color the food in my experience. -

Could these be used to decorate a gingerbread man biscuit to make 'Joseph's coat of many colors'?
Answer: They are food coloring, not writing icing. They are to color icing - Butter cream, fondant, royal icing. -

Are these gluten free?
Answer: To the best of my knowledge, these coloring gels are gluten free and I have successfully used them when baking a gluten free cake. Gluten is not usually an ingredient found in gels. I hope this helps. -

Answer: No, these are not suitable for chocolate. -
