Answer: No, you need the alarm. These sensors only work with the Ring alarm system. You can pair the entire alarm system with Alexa, but none of the additional sensors (door, motion, etc.) will work without the alarm system. -

I don't have white windows, it would be nice if the contact sensors came in brown. Do they come in any other colors?
Answer: They don't come in brown, but they do offer black sensors that are designed to be used outside. Alternatively, you can spray paint them in the color you want. -

Does the sensor work on a letterbox?
Answer: Yes, it should work on a letterbox as long as you have surfaces wide enough to stick the sensors to and keep them close together to engage the signal. When the contact is broken by opening the letterbox, the alarm will sound on the control panel if it's not in disarmed mode. -
